11 LFOs

MFM2 features four identical LFOs that can be assigned to pretty much any parameter that can be modulated. Whenever you click a modulation knob that is assigned to an LFO the display immediately updates to show that LFO for quick reference and easy editing. Click the LFO name to manually change the display to view and edit an LFO.

LFO

All LFOs are timesynced. Use the sync pull-down menu to set the sync value. Values are available from eight bars to 1/64 notes including dotted and triplet note values.

Choose the Wave pull-down menu to choose the waveform of the LFO. The available waveforms are:

sine wave
triangle
sawtooth up
sawtooth down
puls high-low
puls low-high
random step
random glide
user (see below)

The restart parameter allows you to further sync the LFOs to your current song. In free mode the LFOs run freely and only the relative tempo is synced to the song. You can set the start of the LFO to any number of measures of music from one to 32 allowing for very long and dynamic delay modulations that still contain musical phrases.

In gate mode the LFOs cycle starts on every note-on message. Use either a Midi keyboard or automate the built-in Keyboard Control to trigger gated LFOs!

Use the rate parameter to fine-tune the speed of the LFO. The rate modulation can be used to modulate the LFO speed to create even more dramatic effects.

Phase shifts the phase of the LFO to the left or right so that the starting value of the LFO can be different from what it would be by default.

The Amp parameter (amplification) sets the level of the LFO. Combined with the modulation value this allows for very flexible and dynamic modulations.

The delay parameter sets the time it takes until the LFO starts running. This parameter obviously only works when MFM2 is in instrument mode and receives a Midi note on message.

User waveform

User waveform

The user waveform is available so that you can design your own waveforms. Use the steps pull-down menu to choose whether this waveform works as a step wave or a smooth glide wave. This waveform can be anywhere between 1 to 32 steps long. Choose by clicking on the default number of 16 and choose the number of steps from the pull-down menu.
